CoLab is based at the Department of Communication and Economics at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and is headed by Dr. Michele Mariani. The research areas partially reflect the content of two courses: ‘Psychology of Cognitive Processes’ and ‘User Experience Design’/‘Human-Computer Interaction’
The main research topics related to the ‘Psychology of Cognitive Processes’ course are: Embodied cognition, Perceptual modification, and Cognitive biases.
The main research topics related to the ‘User Experience Design’/‘Human-Computer Interaction’ course involve the creation and testing of concepts and prototypes to explore complex problems (‘wicked problems’) and the opportunities offered by emerging technologies (FET: Future and Emergent Technologies – e.g. Internet of Things, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, AR/VR, Wearables) in everyday and professional contexts.
