Course Presentation

The degree programme aims to train a professional figure equipped with the skills to analyze and manage data to support strategic decisions and able to hold both executive and coordination roles within the information systems of companies. The course provides knowledge and skills in statistical and computer science for data analysis, management, and modeling, to be applied in industrial and service organizations, both public and private. Due to environmental complexity and the continuous and systematic evolution and adaptation of organizational contexts, access to foundational knowledge in management and change management is also essential.

This Degree Course is open access.

For the academic year 2024/2025, those enrolling in the Degree Course in Data Analysis for Business and Finance will be required to take the assessment test of initial prerequisite knowledge.

The test is not selective and takes place once enrolled.

If the test is not passed, an Additional Training Obligation (OFA) is assigned, to be completed within the first year of the course, according to the instructions published in the paragraph ‘OFA - Additional Training Obligations’, found on the ‘Test and Registration’ page of this site, linked below.

The essential initial knowledge assessment test is based on the contents indicated in the dedicated Syllabus, which can be downloaded in this section.

Students enrolled in the academic year 2023/2024
Students enrolling in the first year will be assigned an OFA (Additional Training Obligation), which must be completed by September 30, 2024.

However, students that have taken the TOLC-E before or after enrollment, but by 2023, and have achieved a score of 7 or higher in the Mathematics section, twill be considered to have fulfilled the requirement. 

Those who have taken the TOLC-E and score less than 7 in the Mathematics section, will be assigned an OFA. This must be fulfilled by September 30, 2024.

Students enrolled in the academic year 2024/2025
Students enrolling in the first year will be assigned an OFA (Additional Training Obligation), which must be completed by September 30, 2025.

However, students that have taken the TOLC-E before or after enrollment, but by 2024, and achieved a score of 7 or higher in the Mathematics section, will be considered to have fulfilled the requirement.  

Those who took the TOLC-E and scored less than 7 in the Mathematics section will be assigned an OFA, which must be fulfilled by September 30, 2025.
